The very first time you smiled at me, I thought this might be different. I still think about that moment all of the time.

Rachel and Andrew’s love story begins way back in 2017 with two fateful right swipes on Tinder. Andrew quickly reached out with what is assumed to be a clever opening line, and the two began exchanging messages. After a few get-to-know-you conversations and a bit of light internet stalking to ensure that Andrew was a real person, the two decided they should meet.

Their first date came just after Andrew’s 29th birthday at the Newport Beach pier. Rachel had suggested getting coffee and Andrew….had failed to mention that he doesn’t drink coffee. What was supposed to be a 45 minute coffee date turned into a multi-hour stroll around Newport which Rachel affectionally recalls by saying that Andrew talked “a lot.” The spark was lit and there was no looking back.

The two quickly began spending more time together, discovering a great deal about one another including their shared love for food, traveling, and laughing. In the years since that first date, they’ve become quite the pair. They’ve become seasoned wine tasters, they’ve nailed multiple couples Halloween costumes, they’ve almost finished furnishing an apartment that they’ve lived in for over two years, and they have also grown to love and care deeply for one another.

Which brings us to the (near) present, in August of 2021. Andrew decided to ask Rachel to marry him. The proposal came as a total shock to her. Not because they had never discussed spending their lives together, but because they had a trip planned to France the following week and Rachel thought he might, ya know, ask the question in the most romantic city in the world. Instead, he rented out one of their favorite restaurants, LSXO, in Huntington Beach so that he could ask her in private overlooking the same ocean they had walked along on their very first date. Thankfully, she said yes and now they’re engaged to be married!

We’re so excited for you to join as we say “I do” in September of 2022. See you soon!
