TRAVEL
We understand that we are asking a lot of you to travel to our wedding. Thank you! We’ll try to make everything as convenient and easy as possible, so that you have a great time in California. Below is a (non-exhaustive) list of ways to get there. If you have specific questions, feel free to reach out and we’ll be glad to help!
FLYING
San Luis Obispo (SBP) airport is only 10-15 minutes from the venue and hotel. United, American, and Alaska fly in and out of the airport with direct flights from a handful of western cities like Seattle, Dallas, San Francisco, and San Diego, and connections across the entire United States.
A little farther away is Santa Barbara (SBA) airport. Similar to SBP, Santa Barbara offers select direct flights - Chicago, Dallas, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas - along with a variety of connection options.
For those of you traveling from outside the United States, or preferring a direct flight from the East coast, Los Angeles International (LAX) airport is likely going to be your best option. LAX is one of the largest US airports, servicing a whole host of locations on a daily basis. Driving details are below, and we can look into carpools for those who are flying to Los Angeles.
In addition to those three, California has a number of other airports within a four hour radius of San Luis Obispo including Bakersfield (2.5 hr), Fresno (3 hr), Burbank (3 hr), San Jose (3.5 hr), Long Beach (3.5 hr), Orange County (4 hr), and Ontario (4 hr).
DRIVING
Once in California, getting to San Luis Obispo is scenic and easy. From the north (San Francisco, San Jose, Paso Robles), the easiest way will be to get on the 101-S and follow that to your exit. From the south, you’ll want to get to the 101-N. If you want an even more scenic ride, you can look into taking the Pacific Coast Highway (US-1) for all of or part of the drive, or taking a ride on the Pacific Surfliner or the Coast Starlight which both travel the West coast.
Driving Directions from Los Angeles International Airport to Villa Loriana
Get on I-405 N from S Sepulveda Blvd (3 mi)
Take US-101 N to Calle Real in Santa Barbara. Take exit 101B from US-101 N (97 mi)

Follow US-101 N to W Branch St in Arroyo Grande. Take exit 188 from US-101 N (42 mi)
Take N Oak Park Blvd E and Old Oak Park Rd to W Ormonde Rd (4 mi)
GETTING AROUND SAN LUIS OBISPO
For the wedding, we will be offering shuttle services. We’ll have stops in San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Arroye Grande, and Grover Beach. The full shuttle schedule can be found here.
In general, having a car is the best way to get around the Central Coast. Rentals are available at the airports. We recommend getting a car if you’re interested in day trips from San Luis Obispo.
Another rental option that Andrew has had success with is Turo. It’s essentially AirBnB for cars rather than places to stay. We don’t have any affiliation with them nor do we have a discount to offer; it’s just another option to look into especially if rental prices stay high or cars are limited.
Uber & Lyft are options on the Central Coast although it’s worth noting that they are not terribly plentiful in normal times and the past few years have seen them become more limited. In areas like San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles, it’s probably mostly fine to use Uber & Lyft, but it may be harder outside of peak hours or if you’d like to travel outside of the downtown areas.
